Roundup: UC men register 4th win in a row

The University of Charleston men's basketball team won its fourth straight contest in a 93-78 road win over Davis & Elkins Saturday in the McDonnell Center.

UC improved to 6-4 while the Senators dropped to 4-7.

Golden Eagles senior Tino diTrapano scored a game-high 24 points while going 9 of 11 from the field. Jevonte Hughes scored 19 points for UC off the bench and grabbed 11 rebounds. Travon Williams finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and five steals for UC.

For D&E, Kevin Bracy-Davis led the way with 18 points while Wesley Sprinkle added 17 and Kevin Simpson 16.

WVU TECH BASKETBALL: It was a good day at the Neal D. Baisi Athletic Center as the Golden Bears' men's and women's basketball teams posted victories on Saturday.

Tech's women's team opened the day with a 65-55 win over Indiana University Southeast. Tech improved to 5-7 overall, while winning its first Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game of the year. Courtney Fisher led Tech with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Alexandra Combs also had 11 boards. Breanna Propst and LaKisha Adkins had 14 points each for Tech, followe by Savannah Shamblin with 12.

Annie Thomas led IUS with 18 points, while Mary Dye coralled 13 rebounds.

The Golden Bears men's team closed out the day with a 103-74 win over Indiana University Southeast. Ryan Atkins led Tech with 23 points and seven rebounds while Paul Stone added 16 points and seven boards.

Eddie Gordon chipped in with 11 points for Tech, followed by Ra'Shaud Kincaid, Patrick Gngabo and Juwuan Wilson with 10 points apiece.
