West Virginia State committed 31 turnovers as the Yellow Jackets fell to West Liberty 111-75 Saturday afternoon in West Liberty.
Dan Monteroso led the Hilltoppers (19-1, 13-1 Mountain East Conference) with 24 points and eight rebounds, while Devin Hoehn added 18 points, Clay Guillozet chipped in 12 and Tyler Primmer tacked on 11. West Liberty buried 14 3-pointers and had 17 steals in the victory.
Ernest Jenkins scored 20 points to lead the Yellow Jackets (6-14, 3-11) and Cody Morris added 12 points and seven boards. Also for State, Jae'von McClain contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Yellow Jackets made 13 of 22 from 3-point distance.

STATE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: West Liberty had four 20-point scorers points as the Hilltoppers outlasted West Virginia State 100-90 Saturday in West Liberty.
State held a 45-39 lead at the break, but West Liberty outscored the Yellow Jackets 34-12 in the third quarter to pull away.
Johnie Olkowsky led the Hilltoppers (6-13, 5-8 MEC) with 25 points and 11 rebounds, and McKenna Shives, Marissa Brown and Emily Bucon each netted 22 points. West Liberty connected on 18 of 38 3-pointers.
For the Yellow Jackets (10-9, 8-5), Aurreshae Hines had a game-high 30 points, Shealyn Shafer scored 18 and grabbed nine boards and Sydney Bates donated 15 points.
UC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Monica Burns tossed in 24 points as Wheeling Jesuit ran past the University of Charleston 74-48 Saturday afternoon in the Wehrle Athletic Arena in Charleston.
Kylie Frizell fired in 15 points, Mariah Callen collected 12 and Jaana Motton added 10 for the Cardinals (16-4, 11-3 MEC).
The Cardinals forced 22 UC turnovers and held the Golden Eagles to just 35 percent shooting.
Abby Watson led UC (7-13, 6-8) with 12 points and Mya Walker added 10.

MARSHALL WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: UTEP outscored the Thundering Herd 30-10 in the second quarter to build a 15-point halftime lead en route to an 84-74 win Saturday afternoon at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.
Sparkle Taylor led the Miners (6-14, 3-5 Conference USA) with 25 points, and Tamara Seda (15 points, 12 rebounds) and Zuzanna Puc (13 points, 11 boards) each contributed a double-double.
Shayna Gore led the Herd (12-8, 4-5) with a game-high 26 points and Kiana Evans (11 points) and Ashkeika Alexander (10) each reached double-figure scoring.

PREP WRESTLING: Sissonville's Austin Cook finished as the runner-up at 182 pounds Saturday during the Bob Zide Rumble in Williamstown. Cook (19-5) was pinned by Jacob Hart (26-3) of Independence in the finals.
Sissonville placed seventh in the 11-team field, with Independence capturing the team title.
