West Virginia University junior Shelton Gibson is part of the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, which goes to the top receiver in the country.
Last season, Gibson caught 37 passes for 887 yards and nine touchdowns. The 10 semifinalists for the award will be announced on Nov. 14.
n Marshall tight end Ryan Yurachek was named to the preseason watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy, recognized as college football's premier award for community service.
Semifinalists for the award will be announced on Nov. 3. Candidates must be actively involved with a charitable organization or service group while maintaining a strong academic record. Yurachek was also added to the AFCA Good Works team.

Casey Hodges, who served as pitching coach in helping Patrick Henry Community College (Va.) to a 39-win season, has been added to the University of Charleston staff as pitching coach.
Hodges is the son of former 12-year major league veteran catcher Ron Hodges.
Justine Jagga, a breaststroke specialist from Cape Town, South Africa, has signed with the Marshall swimming and diving team. Jagga broke four school records at Springfield High School.
