According to multiple reports Saturday, Youngstown State University is expected to hire Fairmont State head basketball coach Jerrod Calhoun to the same position.
Calhoun led the Falcons to the Division II national championship game, where Fairmont State fell to Northwest Missouri State 71-61 Saturday afternoon.
Calhoun spent the past five seasons at Fairmont State, leading the program to a record of 124-38. The Falcons finished the 2016-2017 season 34-3 and national runners-up.
He was voted the 2017 Mountain East Conference Coach of the Year and was also named the National Association of Basketball Coaches Atlantic District Coach of the Year.
