The Fairmont State men's basketball team climbed to No. 2 in this week's NABC/Division II rankings.
The Falcons (23-1) moved up three spots after posting home wins last week over Urbana and Notre Dame College. They are also in first place in the Mountain East Conference, which plays its men's and women's tournaments at the Charleston Civic Center March 1-5.
West Liberty (22-2) fell five spots, from No. 2 to No. 7, after losing to Concord 107-104 in Athens last Thursday.
Northwest Missouri State (23-0) remains No. 1.

WVU RIFLE: The Mountaineers remain No. 2 nationally in this week's Rifle Coaches Association Poll, heading into the postseason. WVU (12-0) has been No. 2 since Jan. 4. TCU is ranked No. 1 with an average of 4726.67, followed by WVU at 4725.
The Mountaineers will shoot an NCAA qualifying match at 8 a.m. Saturday at the WVU Rifle Range. Air Force will shoot alongside WVU, but the teams will not compete in a shoulder-to-shoulder match.

WVU TECH 65, BLUEFIELD STATE 50: Led by Savannah Shamblin's 16 points, the Golden Bears defeated the Big Blues 65-50 at Bluefield. Alexandra Combs added 12 points and Laura Rquena led the Bears (17-11) with nine rebounds. For the Big Blues (1-21), Tanasia Blake had a double-double with 22 points and 16 boards, and Rosalie Pozo added 10 points.

BIDDY BASKETBALL: The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center will offer a spring Biddy Basketball league for kindergarten through second grade on Saturdays beginning March 25. League play will run for four weeks with a one-day single-elimination tournament following.
