WEST LIBERTY - Visiting Fairmont State erased a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit by scoring two touchdowns to earn a 21-20 come-from-behind victory over West Liberty Thursday night in Mountain East Conference football.
Terrell Charles tied the score for the Falcons on a 10-yard run with 2:18 left in the game, and the extra point by Fairmont State kicker Sam Keil gave Fairmont State the winning margin.
With the Falcons trailing 20-7 in the fourth quarter, Charles scored on a 4-yard touchdown run with 11:42 left to put Fairmont State back into the game and set up the late-game heroics. The Falcons are 3-0 both overall and in conference play.
Charles rushed for 97 yards on 22 carries for the Falcons, quarterback Cooper Hibbs was 25 for 38 passing for 250 yards and receiver Fabian Guerra caught eight passes for 112 yards and a touchdown. Dan Monteroso caught four passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns to lead West Liberty (0-3, 0-2).
